The right measurements

Grabbing a graph paper helps one in the measurements so that he/she does the right thing from the beginning.

It is greatly discouraged doing it on a whim. The right procedure is to measure out the space one is going to build the track. Measurements are done using a measurement tape then transfer that to the graph paper. If one only has 16 feet by 16 feet space to work on, then make sure each foot on the graph paper is properly measured so as not to over/under size the track.
