Beetle came in, your vid always helped out. many vid’s offer right and wrong info, I chose to listen to my heart. left things alone, made one mistake, ordered 2200 mah’s 7.2 2S, placed in side ways,, I made sure all is working order, and WOW! think I hit up to 50mph you may never know. I am taking it easy, and in a relaxed mode. throttle at 50% no more, gotten a good 1 hour, still running that will satisfy my apptite. over 4 minutes.. no bashing or killing it. LOVE THIS BADBOY well enjoying it

i run a 3c in mine and its allways been ok just get a heat sink for the motor and cut a vent hole in the body

they say Spider webs are as strong as steel, and you are very creative, in ways, by the thought of string and glue.. I have been in this hobby and always kept to a major brand, like the Clod buster, and Mid optima, never went with Losi, they were the competitor back then. Today for me it’s online shopping, as my stores are further apart. Let the fun begin.

The video is running at 4S, but that’ll burn out the motor/esc.
It works on 3S, but it’s really designed for 2S, so that’s the safest way to go.

  6. David Sunshine says:

    You’re welcome!
    Glad to help.
The shipping isn’t too bad for the small packages, so if you just need a few parts, you can ship them for very little.
Try setting up an order for just a few plastic parts, you’ll see that shipping is similar to a letter, it takes a while, but you can always use black cotton thread and thin super glue to fix it until you get the parts.

I find that the thread and superglue is stronger than stock even!

Also, some kyosho mini inferno parts fit the beatle too.

  7. fishycomics says:

thank you Dave, for all your help and advice, HK becomes quite expensive with shipping, so I shall keep stock, and enjoy the fun, agree securing parts, to a limit. It is glad to know in advance and. thanks again

  8. David Sunshine says:

    Great to hear!
I find that the parts availability hasn’t been that bad.
I’ve ordered a new set of plastic main gears, but that’s it.
The rest of the drive train gears are metal, so they should be fine.
I wouldn’t upgrade anything else, because you want the plastic lower/upper strut arms to break when you hit something, otherwise something else will break.
Upgrading the metal pieces would cost another $100, that makes no sense in my mind.
Stick with stock, and repair as it breaks.
    Should be fun!

Thank you David. I made the purchase, and will be happy with the Bug, just wished parts were available, and shipping not as expensive with Hobbyking. I will have to rewatch your clip. Anything you can recommend on this beetle? Do you think it is worth the investment for metal gears, and which one’s?

  10. David Sunshine says:

    Thanks man!

I had the Exceed Raptor G2 helicopter, if their other products are like that, then it’s garbage, but it could have just been that one design.

Turnigy seems to make pretty good products for the price though.

I’d go with Turnigy, I haven’t been disappointed by their products yet.

    Cheers!

    David.

Perfection, at its BEST. read all comments, and detail, saved the vid, and thumbed Up. Am in a decision of a on and off road RC. 2.4ghz, lipo, a must.. I looked at Exceeds, ZD mini racing. and some others. Like to know what is on demand like the hobbyzone champ. parts always ready. Thank you for the Excellent write up and review. PEACE

  12. Kevin Hahn says:

Hey, would you please mail me the links to the parts that you built in? Would be great!
    Best Regards,
    Kevin

  13. David Sunshine says:

Mini Revo pwns this, but it costs way more too.

The mini revo is worth it, if you can afford it, $300+ vs $100.

  14. David Sunshine says:

    Thanks man, about 20-30 minutes.
Depends how hard you push it.

  15. Genivaldo Vieira says:

HELLO! congratulations for the video. in this video you are running on battery 2s or 3s?
if you are, running with 3s battery is dangerous damage the esc or motor?
the manual says it should be battery or 7.4 v 7.2 ok?

  16. Steve D says:

Awesome review, thanks. How much run time to you get?

  17. Rj Jones says:

Do you think this would be overall better than the mini revo. About how fast is it? And would it be worth it

  18. Justin Moore says:

very nice video…very detailed, everybody should do this

  19. David Sunshine says:

Nope, it is $70 only for the car(complete with motor installed, ESC, servo), you need to install your own receiver, and provide your own pistol grip or mode 1-4 remote. You can buy the pistol remote from hobbyking for about 20-30, depending on the model you want, I’d get the $30 just to have more features.
There are only 2 more beatles left in stock!! Buy fast! LOL

  20. Aviv Zvirin says:

its comes with pistol radio controller ??

  21. David Sunshine says:

    Thanks man!
    Lol ok!

  22. David Sunshine says:

    Not super fast.
    Approx. 40km/hr.

  23. David Sunshine says:

    Thanks! You’re welcome!
    Nice shotgun!
